We offer individual courses, small group courses, or regular courses as described below.

Clothes customisation course - Autumn 2010

  • Objective: This creative sewing course offers you to transform your clothes by yourself. It will it bring you the necessary knowledge to perform a transformation in harmony with the chosen clothing, to use different materials and to have an aesthetic approach in your creation. You will learn to master the volume and the textures, and to harmonize the colors. Rita Parker, a visual artist, practices transformation of clothing since 1998. She conceives her creations as paintings. She invites you to select among her clothing collection and fabrics to customise them following your inspiration.
    The material is provided. Bring along a basic sewing kit (sewing scissors, needles, pin box, centimeter, pencil, ...). According to each one's level, you will realize three to five parts (scarf, shirt, skirt, sweater, jacket,...) during the session.
  • Requirement: this course on customisation of clothing is accessible to all students.
  • Schedule: From October 13  to December 15, 2010 (10 classes)

Mixed Media Acrylic Painting course – Autumn 2010

  • Objective: in that mixed media course, discover your inner talent through the pleasure and expression of paint and colour, line and brushstroke. Experience how exciting it is to develop an image that reflects your imagination and observation.  Lose yourself in the passion of creating a work of art that is truly your own. This one of a kind class offers the chance to explore or ‘sample' the limitless ways of approaching painting under an experienced professional artist. Employing a variety of techniques and a kaleidoscope of materials, discover the fun of art through exciting and imaginative projects.
  • Mediums: drawing pencils, oil pastels, paintbrush, palette knife, roller, acrylic paint on canvas and paper, gel medium, glaze, modelling paste, found and recycled objects
  • Subject: still life, abstraction, textural canvas, collage and recycling / assemblage, motifs, memory painting.
  • Requirement: mixed media course accessible to all. Each student is followed individually according to its level.

Add Depth to your Painting - Autumn 2010

  • Objective: In this painting and mixed media course, students will practice oil-painting tips and techniques that will add perspective, the illusion of depth, and a new complexity to their painting.
  • Mediums: oil paint.
  • Subjects: still nature, abstract, landscape, ...
  • Requirement: painting and mixed media course accessible to all students, whether you are a beginner or you want to improve. Each student is followed individually according to its level.
  • Schedule : Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 9.30 PM from October 13 to November 17 (6 weeks)

Wet Felt-making Course - Autumn 2010

  •  Objective: In this twelve-week course, adults will learn to make felt, making purposeful felt projects such as scarves, formed felt for pouches or purses, felt beads, felted loofah soap, catnip-laden cat-toys (or dolls for those who do not have a cat!) .
  • Mediums: felt.
  • Subjects: creation of accessories
  • Requirement: felt-making course accessible to all students, whether you are a beginner or you want to improve. Each student is followed individually according to its level.
  • Schedule : Tuesdays evenings from 6.30 to 9.30 PM from September 21 to December 7 (12 weeks)

Mixed Média Course - Autumn 2010

  • Objectives: This special session mixed media course will guide students through the process of creating multimedia masterpieces. Using a combination of collage technique and painting, participants will be taught how to use acrylic gel medium to transfer images to canvas, then work the image with a variety of mediums including acrylic paint and charcoal to create beautiful tableaux. In the first sessions, basic principles will be taught and applied to a small canvas with materials provided. In the remaining sessions, participants will be asked to bring images that are special to them to use in creating their masterpieces. This workshop offers lots of one-on-one time with the instructor, as space is limited to 5 participants.
  • Material: acrylic paint, newspapers, pictures, journal, fabric, recycled material, glue, ....
  • Pre-requisites: mixed media course accessible to all
  • Days: from September 22 to December 8 (12 sessions).
  • Hours: from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Wednesday evenings
  • Location of the course: 10 Pine Avenue West in Montreal
  • Materials included in the price: Brushes, Acrylic paint, Acrylic gel medium / transfer, medium, Canvases / wood support, Drawing materials, Collage Materials, Glue
  • Material to bring : Students are encouraged to bring images that are special to them to use in their multimedia works. What images inspire you? What are your favorite works of art? What do your dreams look like? Begin to think about these things before your first workshop. Collage materials (magazine cut outs, or photocopies of photographs, fabric scraps)
  • Price :$320 and $40 for the material, hence $360 material included.
